An Interesting Website

Retta was searching for solutions to the problem of squirrels consuming the pears off our pear tree, when she ran across a website entitled “All Squirrels Must Die – the official homepage of the Squirrel Defamation League”.  This site is tongue-in-cheek, and it had me in stitches.  A good place to start your visit would be with the following essay.

Dr. Squirrelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Squirrels

It is well worth a click to check out this funny website.

  1. This off topic for squirrels – but did you know that when aluminium was first extracted as the pure element in the early 1900s it was more expensive than gold [or maybe platinum] I forget which?

Now, when camping out, we wrap a potato in Al Foil, then throw it in the camp fire, and then toss the aluminium into the take home garbage.

We’ve got tons of the stuff buried in the ground, and on top of it, in Cape York.

Useful, light, malleable but my latest reading is that it does not inflict Alzeiheimer’s. It just happens to be there on the ‘spectroscope’ in the plaques that are associated with Alzheimer’s.

Maybe – and this is Intelligent Design thinking – Alzeiheimer’s causes aluminium to exist, but has forgotten how it happened!!!
