The Ranch
Our place is located in the heart of the beautiful Ozarks in north-central Arkansas, just a few miles south of the Missouri border. We are situated in a peaceful and secluded valley about twenty-five miles from the nearest town.

Our land is 330 acres in size, of which about half is wooded and half is in pastures and hay fields. The hay fields are productive, consisting primarily of fescue and red clover. The woodlands are mostly a variety of mature hardwoods, with a spattering of cedar glades mixed in as well.

Just to the north of us lies Bulls Shoals Lake, a large lake formed by the damming of the White River, which has over 1000 miles of shoreline. With both the White River nearby, which feeds the lake, and Bull Shoals itself, this area is a mecca for fishermen.
The Buffalo River National Scenic Waterway, which is administered by the National Park Service, runs just to the south of us.

The past owners of the property used it to raise cattle, and had a small dairy operation as well. We allowed a neighboring rancher to graze some of his cattle on about 80 of our pasture acres over the course of one winter, but then decided that their presence conflicted with our goal, which is to preserve our land as a wildlife sanctuary and to created a park-like atmosphere for us to enjoy in solitude.
